Ladies of Laughter

The Ladies of Laughter Funny & Fabulous Tour includes winners and the best talent from its competitions.

What started out as an annual videotape comedy competition in New York in honor of fellow women in comedy who have helped so many others get their start, has steadily become known in the comedy world as the CAREER BUILDER FOR WOMEN IN COMEDY.

Since its inaugural year when the contest went “live” in a NJ YMCA, the Ladies of Laughter has visited legendary venues including Caesars and Madison Square Garden. Past participants include Amy Schumer, Michelle Buteau, Tammy Pescatelli and Big Bang Theory star Melissa Rauch, among countless others.

The Funny & Fabulous Tour has visited beautiful theaters all over America with some bringing the show back two or three times a year with different women each time.

In 2018, Carol Burnett graciously accepted the first ever “Ladies of Laughter Spirit Award” established to honor those who have inspired others to enter the competitive field of comedy.

In 2023, the Ladies of Laughter released their first recording, “Ladies of Laughter from the Friar’s Club” with past winners. This is the first all-women recording of comedy from the 100+ year old show business institution.
