$2 for the Schools Program Continues. Hudson Park Elem PTO Receives Special Gift!

LONGVIEW, WA – The Columbia Theatre, Longview is pleased to announce that the “$2 for the Schools” program succeeded in raising $400 for Hudson Park Elementary PTO through tickets sales of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol.” Hudson Park is the second school to participate, joining Northlake Elementary School (Longview). The program is made possible by the Columbia Theatre Association’s Eloise Pepper Arts Education Fund.

“$2 for the Schools” is a way to work with PTOs to encourage participation in the many educational performances and activities that occur at the Columbia Theatre each year. This program simply provides participating elementary school PTOs $2 for each ticket sold to select family performances.

The PTOs are only asked to raise awareness of their selected show among the school community.

There will be five more eligible performances in the 2019/2020 season, four of them are part of the Fibre Federal Credit Union’s Rainy Months Series which includes:

Patrick Garner’s THOMAS EDISON: THE WIZARD OF MENLO PARK - Sunday Feb. 9th 2:00 p.m. Learn about Edison’s early years and follow his life story as Patrick and a team of audience members recreate pivotal moments of invention by following Edison’s lessons to live by. MISS NELSON HAS A FIELD DAY - Sunday, March 8th, 2:00 p.m. Return to Horace B. Smedley School where they’ve never won a football game. Miss Nelson comes to the rescue when her alter ego, Miss Viola Swam whips the team into shape. Designated school: Castle Rock Elementary, Castle Rock. CLICK HERE
