“The chemistry between the musicians, the top-flight playing that we witnessed and this extraordinary event in which 4 guitarists from different parts of the world come together and exchange musical languages should never be taken for granted. What took place on the night of February 3, 2008 at the Lincoln Theatre was in fact, a historical event--at least in the realm of music and friendship building.” --Moon Child, Whole Music Experience blog |

Sponsored by Acoustic Guitar Magazine, International Guitar Night is the longest-running “Mobile” Guitar Festival in North America! Since its humble beginnings in 1995 in a converted Laundromat in the San Francisco Bay Area, IGN has featured the best performing guitar composers from around the world. Audiences cherish the virtuosity of the playing and the friendly, informal ambiance of the performances. Participants relish the chance to play with peers from different genres and to collaborate rather than compete.
Brian Gore – IGN Founder and San Francisco guitar-poet, Brian Gore has earned his reputation as one of the most influential performers of “the next generation” in finger-style guitar. A musical romantic, his compositions draw inspiration from myth and modern literature.

Pierre Bensusan – Revered French, finger-style acoustic guitarist Bensusan combines a classical musician’s technique with a jazz player's improvisational flexibility. Bensusan’s compositions often begin with melodies inspired by folk traditions but evolve into compositions of astonishing complexity, with beautiful and sensuous sounds. In his accomplished hands, Bensusan can make a single guitar sound like an entire band.
Benjamin Verdery – A designated “American Original and American Master” by Guitar Review Magazine. One of the classical guitar world’s most foremost personalities, Verdery has enjoyed an innovative and eclectic musical career since his 1980 New York debut. He has performed with William Coulter, Leo Kottke, Paco Peña and John Williams.
Cecilia Zabala – A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Zabala has expressed her musical creativity using her guitar and her voice, creating original compositions that blend sensitivity, emotion, technique and intuition. Her music draws on a rich mixture of influences, from Argentinean folklore, the contemporary language of the twentieth century, jazz, tango and Brazilian music. This tour marks her North American debut. |
